The open-alpha is the first public test that will be available to all interested in playing Severed Lands. It is the stage in the development cycle where all key gameplay functionalities have already been implemented. These features may be further revised based on testing and feedback received during the alpha stage. In the finished product, however all gameplay functionalities will have been completed, and the visual elements of the game will be finalized and revamped accordingly.
Virtually all content in the game can be experienced by a solo player.
There are currently 6 professions in-game: Carpentry, Cooking, Farming, Cooking, Metalwork, Hunting; and there are plans to add more in the future.
Yes. All players will be allowed to change various aspects of their appearances in-game.
No, there will not be any hard caps on any form of progression.
Severed Lands is a hardcore PVP game and as you all may know PvP in games comes with some great advantages, but the reality is that PvP left unchecked has the potential to cause some disastrous effects. The justice system is our way of keeping PvP "in check", it aims to foster a more balanced and deliberate PvP landscape.
In Severed Lands, when a player's health is reduced to 0 they are placed in a knocked out state. While knocked out, players may lose all, some or none of the items in their inventories if their attacker decides to steal. If the attacker decides to elimate the player they will suffer an additional penalty applied to attributes and professions.
